The President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović laid the cornerstone for the construction of the Phyox microalgae production facility

On December 16, 2019, the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović laid the cornerstone for the construction of the Phyox microalgae production facility in the Business Zone Novska, emphasizing: "The key to success is the balanced development of the private and public sector, together aimed at creating a competitive and export-oriented economy" and added: "Novska shows that it knows how to encourage entrepreneurial potential development, which means more jobs, better salaries, young people staying and the return of those who left", emphasizing that successful cooperation between local authorities and entrepreneurs shows how one can create a positive business environment.

The CEO of that company, Dražen Breglec, stated that the production facility is an investment worth over 5 million euros, that will employ 15 of the planned 30 workers in the early phase, and microalgae will be exported worldwide.

 "In Novska we have found a great partner, excellent environment and investment requirements", said Dražen Breglec, CEO of Phyox d.d., and pointed out how quickly they got the construction permit and  thanked the mayor, his associates, the city and county administration.

He also stressed the importance of ESIF state guarantees, which for this project in the intensity of 80% has been provided by HAMAG-BICRO.

"Sufficient competitive advantage cannot be achieved in the world market without research, development and commercialization of innovations, and for those who intend to export 100% of their production, it is a must! Therefore, in the following years, in Novska, but also elsewhere in Croatia, in cooperation with local and foreign scientists, we will develop new, valuable products worldwide" concluded Dražen Breglec and confirmed that Phyox will start commercial production within 8 months.
